Chaplaincy In Action

Our National Chaplain Fr. Barry Lomax is also the RC Chaplain to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

This week Manchester has hosted the Conservative Party conference and GMP have been responsible for the venue and surrounding areas' security 24/7 both before and during the event.

Op. Protector was a huge operation involving not only GMP officers and staff but with assistance from neighbouring forces too.

GMP Chaplains worked their own rota during the week to talk to staff regardless of their faith or indeed if they were of no faith at all, emphasising what chaplaincy is all about.
