EASTER SUNDAY

CHRIS IS RISEN, ALLELUIA !

CHRISTUS SURREXIT, ALLELUIA !

Wishing all a very Happy Easter as we celebrate the true meaning of the season.

A message from our National Chaplain :-

After journeying through forty days of Lent, and the few passionate days of Holy Week, we once again arrive at our destination, EASTER.

It’s a journey many of us have made before, a familiar road that leads us out of the shadows of darkness and into the bright promise of life everlasting; brought to fruition by Christs’ own resurrection. Now the tomb lies empty, and we are told in St. Mark’s Gospel that “There is no need for alarm. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he has risen he is not here. He is going before you”. It is that same message given “very early in the morning of the first day of the week”, to those holy women, that we too must keep in mind.

For although Jesus knew the dark night of suffering and death, the brightness of Easter morning transformed all that hurt into glory. Like those first disciples our own personal fortunes are often mixed, as we too experience sadness and joy in our daily lives.

But whatever our own situation may be, the hope and joy of Easter can never be taken from us. As the Psalmist reminds us “This day was made by the Lord: we rejoice and are glad”. And so, with that same hope and joy in mind, may I wish you and your families a very Blessed Easter.

Stay with us Lord on our Journey. Alleluia!
