St. Michael is, as well as being the Patron Saint of the Police Service, the Guilds Patron and each year at least one Mass is celebrated on his feast, the 29 September.
Our National Chaplain Fr. Barry Lomax celebrated Mass for the Guild in the chapel at the Greater Manchester Police Training School in Sedgley Park. Joining him to concelebrate was Fr. Richard Ebo, one of the Chaplains to Merseyside Police and assisting was Deacon Tony Strike, a Chaplain to South Yorkshire Police.
The congregation consisted of serving and retired officers and staff from a number of police forces and we had one who had travelled from Norfolk ! We were also pleased to welcome as ever colleagues from the NCA's Catholic Guild of St Michael.
After Mass, all enjoyed socialising with fellow members over some light refreshments.
